COSMETICIAN|IN
Prerequisites:
The profession of beautician is a service profession and lives from a certain customer loyalty. Therefore, applicants for this profession should always be able to work in a customer-oriented manner. Because only if the customers are content with the treatment and felt all around well, they come also again and recommend the Kosmetikerin further.
Tolerance and stress resistance
This means that the personal interests and needs of the customer should always be taken into consideration. In addition to a certain degree of empathy and a certain power of observation, this also includes a friendly relationship with the customer – and this should be maintained even if the customer is not so “easy to care for”.
This in turn requires
– a high degree of tolerance as well as
– a certain resistance to stress.
Product knowledge
Another particularly important aspect in the profession of beautician is product knowledge. Because only those who are good with
– the products,
– their ingredients and
– their mode of action
who can advise customers competently.
Of course, a large part of the necessary knowledge is imparted during training. However, there are always new products and findings in the field of cosmetics, so that it can never hurt to deal with them in further training measures.
A certain love and devotion to all this is therefore certainly an advantage if you want to work successfully as a beautician.
Your own well-groomed appearance
In addition, if you want to convey something credible to your customers about face and body care, you should regard yourself as your own “figurehead”. This means that a beautician must have a well-groomed appearance.
Tasks:
Cosmeticians are the right contacts when it comes to the beauty of the skin. Do beauticians carry out skin care treatments and focus on the face, neck, décolleté, hands and feet? The tasks of beauticians are:
– Cleansing the skin
– Removal of skin impurities
– Removal of body hair
– Application of masks
– Application of creams or lotions
– Cutting fingernails and toenails
– Applying make-up
– eyebrow plucking
– eyelash tinting
– Painting the nails
– Sales and advice on cosmetic products
This range of tasks shows: The day-to-day work of beauticians is quite varied. The focus is on the customer. In an initial consultation, beauticians explain to the customer about body and beauty care. Then they carry out smaller beauty treatments or recommend the right care product for purchase and instruct customers in the right application.
Education:
There are two different training options for training as a beautician: A three-year dual training course, which takes place in parallel at a vocational school and a training company. Alternatively, job candidates can also be trained at a cosmetics school. The advantage: The intensive training lasts only one year.
However, since the training is purely school-based, there are training fees during this time and no salary is paid into the account. The entire training costs around 7,000 euros.
Either way, the cosmetic training includes professional skin care, training in cosmetic hand and foot care, sports and wellness massage as well as decorative cosmetics (make-up).
No matter whether it’s the sale of a product or a treatment. 99 percent of all beautician tasks revolve around the skin. In order to be able to give good advice to a customer, they must therefore first make themselves familiar with the condition of the skin in a short examination.
Then you can instruct the customer which skin care products suit him or which make-up is best tolerated. In the process, their suggestions always include current fashion trends, about which they should keep themselves informed.
The following topics will also be discussed:
– skin diagnosis
– skin cleansing
– exfoliation
– Packages and masks
– eyebrow correction
– Tinting eyebrows and eyelashes
– Deep massage for neck, face, neck and décolleté
– Depilation of facial and body hair
– Whole body treatments to improve body contour
– cellulite treatment
– Apparative cosmetics
– Handling steam devices, grinding devices, stimulation current devices, direct current devices, ultrasonic devices, depilation devices
– anatomy
– physiology
– cell and tissue science
– organ theory
– Influence of hormones, vitamins, enzymes on the human organism
– Structure and function of the body
– General Introduction to Dermatology
– Tissue theory of the skin and skin appendages
– Physiology of the skin
– Skin changes theory
– Effect of UV radiation on the skin
– dietetics
– Acid/base balance
– cellulite
– hygiene
Perspectives:
The work/life balance in the profession is usually balanced. The chances on the job market are good.

If, however, you decide to take the exam, you will only have to take it on a practical level and may repeat it as often as you like.
In this way we want to avoid the fear of the test situation, which has already been proven to lead to a steadily increasing success rate for passing the test for the first time. Both could be achieved by continuing education at our academy. The certificate, which verifies the competences you have acquired, serves as a recognised reference for your qualification. PHYSIOTHERAPEUT|IN
Prerequisites:
As a physiotherapist you should pay attention in biology lessons: Knowing how ligaments, muscles and joints work is enormously helpful in this job. For the same reason, basic knowledge of sports and sports medicine pays off. Close patient contact also requires open-mindedness, communication skills and social intelligence. And in order to keep the therapists “at the bar”, some motivational skills are often required.
Tasks:
A stable backbone is evidence of an upright posture – both in character and in body. Nevertheless, back pain is one of the most common common diseases. One of the main reasons: Office work, which is widespread in modern societies, takes place almost exclusively in a seated position, while the athletic balance is often neglected. However, unbalanced, one-sided stress affects the body’s musculoskeletal system. This is where physiotherapists come into play: they prevent possible muscle, ligament and joint complaints through targeted therapies and promote the mobility of the elderly, the (chronically) sick and the injured.
Physiotherapists are experts in all aspects of the human musculoskeletal system. On the one hand, they use preventive therapeutic measures to prevent smaller ailments from causing major health damage. On the other hand, they also eliminate coordinative restrictions caused, for example, by diseases or injuries.
Physiotherapists …
– treat people with limited mobility – the injured, the elderly, the sick, the disabled.
– carry out therapeutic measures: Breathing exercises, gymnastics, massages, heat-, electro- and hydrotherapies …
– prepare treatment plans according to medical diagnosis.
Education:
The training as a physiotherapist is uniformly regulated nationwide, takes place at vocational schools for physiotherapy and lasts three years. Combined training courses, which also lead to a gymnastics teacher’s degree, last three and a half to four and a half years. As a rule, school-based training is not remunerated; any fees due are to be paid by the students themselves. Some universities offer a special bachelor’s or master’s degree in physiotherapy for further qualification after the technical college education.
Perspectives:
Most of the more than 90,000 physiotherapists in Germany work in hospitals, rehabilitation clinics and specialist practices. But entry opportunities are also available in many other areas where health-promoting exercise is on the agenda: for example in wellness hotels, retirement homes and even fitness studios.

– An average physical mobility and ability to move
– Average mental stability and resilience
– Openness and interest in the training content and the training approach
– The participants’ self-commitment to practice and maintain the exercise material for at least 30 minutes per day.
Previous experience is advantageous for training and can be credited to training under certain circumstances. Previous experience includes, for example, one or more years of Qigong or Taijiquan practice experience or health-related training or education in the medical, sports or pedagogical fields.
Tasks:
Qigong is a training system originating from China, whose practice combines aspects of health, meditation and martial arts in itself and contains the possibility for personal development.
Qigong does not have the same historical development as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), but Qigong is more and more often seen as closely connected to TCM.
Qigong is described as a way of life care or as a way of practice, which wants to bring the mental and physical / spiritual aspects of human life into harmony.
Education:
The training concept is based on a training programme consisting of three self-contained training courses, which are designed as consecutive and complementary qualification levels.
Level 1: Course instructor (KL)
Level 2: Teacher (L)
Level 3: Instructor (AB)
The trainer or the training institution issues training certificates (Certificates) for the respective training levels. They must contain differentiated information on training content, training period (years) and training hours (EE). For the completion of the different levels, the training years, the teaching hours (UE) held and the own practice hours are decisive.
Perspectives:
After your final exam you can teach Qi Gong. You can integrate your knowledge into your work or become an independent Qi Gong teacher and found an existence. It is entirely up to you whether you want to continue working on your own basis or whether you want to open another Centre Qi Gong location with our help: https://www.qigong-lehrer-ausbildung.de/qigong-lehrer/existenz.html

SAUNA MASTER|IN
Prerequisite:
In general, there are no special entry requirements or professional entry requirements for the training. However, having fun in the sauna is always the best basis.
Tasks:
Sauna masters look after sauna guests and ensure that the sauna facilities are in proper condition. Their best known function is to infuse the sauna heater. Sauna masters should ensure a healthy sauna process for healthy people who only use the sauna for relaxation and recreation.
Sauna masters operate and monitor the technical systems and control the temperature of the sauna facilities and the water. They are also involved in ensuring compliance with the relevant hygiene regulations, for example by taking prescribed water samples. They also carry out administrative work. The actual “sauna master training” can be completed at a “sauna master seminar”.
Sauna masters work in saunas, sports centres, spa and wellness hotels as well as in sanatoriums and rehabilitation clinics. In medical rehabilitation facilities, visitors with complaints for which the sauna has been prescribed by a doctor as a therapeutic measure or as part of a rehabilitation usually have access to specialists such as masseurs and medical pool attendants who may have taken part in further training to become a sauna master. They inform the sauna guests about the health effects of taking a sauna and about additional medical treatments and their therapeutic effects. Risk patients are made aware of the possible dangers of taking a sauna.
Education:
No training is required to become a sauna master, but various providers in Germany and Austria offer training and further training courses of varying duration and intensity. In some German federal states, these courses are recognised as continuing education measures for medical professionals such as masseurs and medical pool attendants, master craftsmen and specialist employees of bathing establishments, bathing assistants or physiotherapists. Three times a year, the Academy for Training and Further Education in the Bathing Sector of the German Sauna Federation conducts courses for master sauna attendants which qualify the participants to manage a company in line with the market and to deal correctly with bathers. The extensive curriculum of the 14-day full-time course includes medical, technical, organisational and economic topics.
The sauna master training is a training further measure for masters and specialized employees of bath enterprises, bath aids, masseurs and med. bath masters, Krankengymnasten, nurses and existence founders in the leisure and Fitnessbereich. There is no entry requirement.
The curriculum includes the treatment of the physiological bases of cardiac activity, blood circulation, respiration, metabolism, water and mineral balance and the autonomic nervous system. They are related to the effects of sauna bathing with thermal stimuli. The connections between sauna bathing and diseases as well as special questions on sauna and sport, sauna during pregnancy, sauna bathing of children and elderly people etc. are the subject of several lessons. Further important areas of training are planning and marketing questions of public sauna facilities as well as topics of operational management, hygiene and sauna technology.
The lessons are supplemented by teaching letters and specialist literature. The sauna master certificate is handed out after passing the final written or, if necessary, oral examination. In many federal states, training to become a sauna master is recognised as a further training measure. This does not only result in the possibility of claiming subsidies for this training, but also in the recognition of the qualification as a sauna master.
After passing the examination, the sauna master certificate is handed over. Several federal states recognise the sauna master course as a further training measure.
Perspectives:
Of course, this training is also extremely interesting for those interested in self-employment with their own wellness and fitness company. Here the necessary equipment is acquired to be able to run a sauna in a technically mature, technically correct and economically successful way. For this reason, the training is also worthwhile for future independent operators of saunas.

SHIATSU PRAKTIKER|IN
Prerequisites:
There are no regulated admission requirements for this training.
Tasks:
With Shiatsu the natural energy flow of the human being can be stimulated, regulated and supported. With the Shiatsu acupressure massage, different acupressure points are held for a longer period of time or pressed in different ways by the Shiatsu therapist. Through the targeted grip techniques of the holistic Shiatsu massage, the flow of information in the energy pathways / meridian lines is brought back into a harmonious balance. Shiatsu is usually practiced on the floor of a mat (tatami) according to ancient Far Eastern tradition. In this course you will also learn how to practice Shiatsu on the massage bench. This gives you the advantage of being able to offer Shiatsu on the move.
Shiatsu serves the
– Stabilisation of the immune system and thus of health maintenance.
– Stress management through relaxation and harmonization of body energies.
– Regeneration, especially in states of exhaustion.
– Sensitisation of one’s own body perception.
Practical application of Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a full body treatment. In addition to gentle, rhythmic pressure techniques, various forms of stretching and rotation are used to achieve relaxation and harmonization of body energies. The Shiatsu therapist uses his own body weight and works mainly from the centre of the body (Hara). In many Far Eastern martial arts like Aikido, archery (Kyudo) or Tai Chi one learns above all to come into contact with one’s Hara and to use its power. The correct practice of Shiatsu is the basis for a good quality of treatment. In addition to the theory and practice of Shiatsu massage, you will also learn special breathing techniques and concentration exercises to integrate your Hara into the Shiatsu technique and thus optimize the holistic Shiatsu treatment.
Education:
Shiatsu is an independent commercial profession. The completion of the three-year training entitles the holder to exercise the profession.

In recent years there has been a veritable wave of openings of wellness facilities and spas. Specialists are also in demand in such a growth industry. For example, expert spa managers.
Four- and five-star hotels are currently increasingly looking for young, highly motivated spa managers as specialist staff for the wellness centres associated with the hotels. The hotels offer health-conscious relaxation as balance to vocational requirements or make families with children possible an immersion into restful, stress-free holidays.
Wellness centres that want to distinguish their profile from the broad mass of fitness offers also hire spa managers. The spa manager should tailor the offer to the customer’s needs and win new customers. In addition, the spa manager has to determine the offers of massages, curative treatments and wellness that are trendy and are requested by customers.
Large swimming pools and spas with wellness departments also need a spa manager. There he can upgrade the range of swimming pools with additional massage, water gymnastics, body, facial and other treatments. Furthermore, he can profitably put the existing rooms and staff into action for optimal use by means of an organisation plan.
Larger massage institutes and cosmetic training departments consult with a spa manager about future possibilities of cooperation with bath departments and body therapists.

This occurs more frequently, the medical masseur is also called “medical bath attendant” and is exactly the same training. A wellness masseur or wellness practitioner provides relaxation, recreation and regeneration.
A Wellbeing masseur / Wellbeing praktiker can work in different ranges, in which it concerns the well-being of the customers: Cosmetic studios, Saunalandschaften, Wellnessbereiche of large hotels, mobile Massage or also its own Massagestudio open. However, the name of the massage studio must immediately make it clear which type of massage it is. “Wellnessoase”, for example, points out that this is not about medical massage and that only healthy people are massaged.
Education:
The training takes place at private schools and is not state-certified. Therefore, the content, duration and cost of training can vary considerably. However, an average time expenditure of two to seven days must be reckoned with. Optionally some training centers offer the training building on it to the Wellnesstherapeuten after conclusion of a training to the Wellnessmasseur/Wellnesspraktiker.
Training course contents:
During the massage training, the participants learn how to perform a massage from the head to the feet without much exertion in order to be able to perform an individual one-hour wellness massage on the customer at the end of the massage training. The range of the Wellness- and health precaution offers various ranges of application (e.g.: the work in cure, Wellness- or other hotels). Furthermore, there is the possibility to work in sports and gymnastics studios as well as in health centres or to run your own massage practice.

For example, a wellbeing trainer or wellbeing consultant has the task of looking after the customers of a wellness and health facility individually. The wellness trainer can be used in wellness facilities, fitness facilities, baths, hotels/spa facilities, cosmetic studios or extended massage practices with their own wellness area. The wellness trainer should have a multitude of methodological and professional competencies from the health care sector. These include, for example, various massage techniques, experience in body work and relaxation. After completion of an appropriate training and advanced training, wellness trainers are predestined to independently run their own practice for prevention or to practice in the numerous wellness facilities at home and abroad.
The conversion of ambitious prevention offers requires a high measure of technical authority of the responsible coach. From the individual creation of training plans up to the management of an own practice for wellness and prevention the arc stretches itself therefore. In addition to the relevant specialist skills, methodological competence, i.e. the successful transfer of specialist knowledge and social competence, i.e. the transfer to the customer, is very important for successful cooperation.
Education:
The training to become a wellness trainer is varied and complex. Every trainee goes through so-called basic modules. This includes getting to know various wellness models and their application. The independent development of wellness concepts and their marketing is also taught. Building on this, the wellness trainer is also taught basic knowledge in ethics, psychology and communication. These are particularly important, since a Wellness coach must sell itself and its applications later also .
Since a wellness trainer usually works as a freelancer, basic knowledge of business and economics, law and taxes is required. The trainee can specialise in further advanced modules. This includes a wide variety of massage techniques. .
Examples are the holistic wellness massage, the Ayurvedic massage or the Thai Yoga massage. Advanced training modules can be completed in the areas of relaxation and stress management as well as baths and saunas. The training also does not neglect physical education. The trainee can learn indoor and outdoor movement models. And since the correct intake of food is the basis for the success of every wellness application, the courses on nutritional advice are correspondingly extensive.
Beyond that a specialization is possible to the medical Wellness coach. In this case, additional training in the field of natural medicine is required. In the training the use of alternative therapies, examination methods and emergency medicine are taught.
Perspectives:
The job market in the wellness sector is growing steadily. Many companies such as hotels are discovering the wellness sector for themselves. This creates numerous new jobs. Wellness trainers can also get permanent positions in fitness studios or hospitals.
In times of economic crisis, only one industry still experiences a real upswing, the vital area. Nothing is too expensive for many when it comes to their own health. According to current economic analyses, the vital area is one of the most promising occupational fields of the future. Hotels and health resorts are already offering their guests wellness programmes, fitness facilities are switching over to holistic prevention concepts and even companies are paying more attention to the health of their own employees.
